Definition

ISO-11179 Definition

Recognition granted by the National Committee for Quality Assurance to health plans, physician organizations, and data vendors that meet defined standards for quality measurement, data collection, reporting processes, and organizational quality improvement infrastructure. NCQA health plan accreditation and HEDIS compliance certification are required for Medicare Advantage plan participation and are widely required by commercial and Medicaid purchasers as a condition of network participation and preferred contracting.
