ISO-11179 Definition
A HEDIS measure assessing the percentage of members 6 years and older who had a visit to an emergency department with a principal diagnosis of mental illness or intentional self-harm and had a follow-up visit with a mental health practitioner within 7 and 30 days after the ED visit. FUM is distinct from FUH which follows inpatient hospitalization and is included in CMS Star Ratings and behavioral health quality programs targeting high-utilization members with mental health conditions.
